Macro Group: Sub groups
The UK Polymer Colloids Forum (PCF) was set up under Macro Group in 1993 with the aim of expanding UK academic activity in the field of polymer colloids. Another aim was to bring the UK polymer colloids community together for discussions of topics and issues of both academic and industrial importance, the principal vehicle for this being the regular meetings of the Forum. For further details of the forum's activities, please see their website linked below:
Recent Appointees in Polymer Science
RAPS helps young polymer scientists form networks and contacts with other researchers in academia and industry. Established with the help of the EPSRC, and now part of Macro Group, RAPS provides a forum for Recent Appointees in all sectors of UK Polymer Science to forge links and networks for the future.
RAPS membership is extended to all those who :-
- have been in their first polymer science post for less than 6 years and
- are eligible to apply for independent funding.
- The RAPS committee organise a meeting each year where keynote speakers introduce a topic and RAPS members then have the opportunity to present on a related topic. RAPS also organises EPSRC college days, UKRO workshops and hot topic meetings.
Polymer Degradation Discussion Group
The Polymer Degradation Discussion Group (PDDG) provides a focus for UK polymer scientists with interests in the study and control of polymer degradation and typically holds meetings biennially.
